DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE: https://nwonyievents.org/ \nThe District BLAST Program (Building Leaders and Sharing Talents) is guided by the rules and policies set forth by the Field BLAST event held at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Early June each year) .  The Field NYI Council\, made up of the Field NYI President and the District Presidents from the 8 districts on the region\, sponsors the event.  Students that participate in the District BLAST have the opportunity to share their God given talents in a competitive setting.  The top scoring participants are selected to represent the Northwestern Ohio district at the regional BLAST.  Also\, students experience leadership training that is designed to strengthen their relationship with Christ\, challenging each one to be His leaders in their church and community.\n\nPurposes\n1.      To build leadership trends among high school students.\n2.      To promote the use of talents and gifts in local churches and communities.\n3.      To give valuable feedback to students as they develop their gifts.\n4.      To fellowship with Nazarenes across the district.\n5.      To select the representatives from our district that will represent us at the Regional BLAST event held at MVNU.\n\nLeadership\nStephanie Baldwin – Stephanie.baldwin@realtyfive.com

DESCRIPTION:EXCITING NEWS: In conjunction with the Southwest Ohio District\, The Northwest Ohio Nazarenes have the opportunity to come alongside Rescue Hill. Rescue Hill is a Nazarene Compassionate Ministry Center in the heart of Arlington\, Texas with a focus in Anti-Human Trafficking. It is the only CMC of its kind on the USA/Canada region and is making a huge impact across the US in the anti-trafficking fight. \nThis mission trip will give us the opportunity to contribute toward transitioning the property into an operational Anti-Human Trafficking facility with emergency beds and housing\, an Immigration Center\, and an Advocacy Center as well as maintaining a space for the three church congregations who meet there weekly. The three main areas of focus right now are these: 1. Remove old tile floors in both entries and hallway and replace with laminate flooring. 2. Stain fencing on the property and with other building remodeling and maintenance work.  \nWomen with healthcare degrees will have the opportunity to work directly with women in crisis. They will be learning alongside some of the most effective pastors in our district as they are immersed in equipping and teaching sessions\, worship\, mentoring\, and peer sharing. \nThe weekend will be held over 2 days and hosted at The District Center/Cross Oak Camp\, in St Marys on Friday\, March 1\, from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm (Lunch & Dinner provided) and Saturday\, March 2\, from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm (Breakfast and lunch provided) \nInterviews for first-time district licenses or renewing a district license will be part of Gold Weekend and will be scheduled on Saturday morning. Ordination interviews will take place Friday evening starting at 7:00 pm. \nYour next steps:\n1. SUMMARY:NYI Fall Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Fall Retreat has grown into something really special\, and with many of our teens fresh off an incredible time at NYC 2023 where they were challenged in multiple ways\, we believe this year’s retreat is going to be a great follow up! As such\, we’re excited to welcome Michaele Lavigne\, our featured speaker. Michaele is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and specializes in spiritual formation–this year’s focus–and we have no doubt this event will be a valuable time for your teens! \nFall Retreat is open to any student currently in 6th thru 12th grade. We’re going to work toward a deeper relationship with Christ by discovering different methods of spiritual formation. Naturally\, that comes alongside periods of worship\, fun and games\, a dance party tradition\, and more! (Not to mention Cross Oak’s infamous milkshakes!) \nThe cost to participate is $145 (for teens)\, $115 (for adults)\, but if you register by October 1\, you’ll save $25 per person! (Consequently\, those who register between October 9-15 will pay an additional $15.) \nFees include entrance to all sessions and activities\, breakfast Saturday through Breakfast Sunday (you’ll need to provide dinner prior to your arrival Friday night)\, late night snacks\, and a t-shirt! \nWe require a minimum of 1 adult per 6 students and one adult per gender. So if you have 5 girls and 1 boy\, you’ll need both a male and a female chaperone. (Note: “Adult” is defined as being over 20 years of age.) **If you are a small church with a few teens and do not have an adult to send\, please contact Josh Huff. We’d like to help make it work for you! \nHOW TO REGISTER: All registration is done through the nwonyievents.org. However\, please note that each church has its own registration link! When you visit the registration site\, every church will be listed. Select your church and use that link in your local church communications. Your church will then have access to their own registration system. We’re also happy to report that online registration now includes a medical release form for each participant\, as these are required for every teen participating in retreat. \nCANCELLATIONS: Because certain aspects of retreat must be paid in advance\, we are unable to issue full refunds. Cancellations up to two weeks prior will be issued a refund minus $40. Cancellations less than two weeks prior will not be refunded at all. \nWHAT TO BRING: Students should bring a Bible\, a writing utensil\, clothes\, extra cash for the Snack Bar\, a laundry bag\, toiletries\, bed linens and towels. Plan for every kind of weather–you never know what to expect in November! Also\, some sleeping areas are separate from shower facilities–plan accordingly! \nWHAT NOT TO BRING: Normal contraband (weaponry\, drugs\, alcohol\, tobacco\, fireworks\, etc.)\, student vehicles (students driving to the event will be sent home)\, and electronics (items that aren’t absolutely necessary!) **We reserve the right to confiscate items deemed inappropriate until the end of the event\, and appreciate your understanding.
