DESCRIPTION:The Ministry Discovery & Assessment Conference (MDAC) is a weekend for district-licensed ministers to help discover your gifts and provide peer learning and encouragement as well as leadership development\, all the while helping you gain a better understanding of your leadership style and self-awareness of areas needed for growth and greater effectiveness. \nMDAC is a required step in the journey toward ordination. \nThere is a significant amount of preparation for the event. Both the candidate and spouse (if married) must participate in the entire weekend event. An application for both the candidate and the spouse must be filled out ahead of the event\, plus three separate assessments for both the candidate and the spouse. The applications as well as the assessments must be completed ahead of time\, with a deadline of Monday\, August 22. \nThe weekend begins at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday and will go through Sunday at approximately noon. \nEmail Chip Bullock at ChipBullock@limacc.com to register.

SUMMARY:NYI Fall Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Fall Retreat has grown into something really special\, and with many of our teens fresh off an incredible time at NYC 2023 where they were challenged in multiple ways\, we believe this year’s retreat is going to be a great follow up! As such\, we’re excited to welcome Michaele Lavigne\, our featured speaker. Michaele is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and specializes in spiritual formation–this year’s focus–and we have no doubt this event will be a valuable time for your teens! \nFall Retreat is open to any student currently in 6th thru 12th grade. We’re going to work toward a deeper relationship with Christ by discovering different methods of spiritual formation. Naturally\, that comes alongside periods of worship\, fun and games\, a dance party tradition\, and more! (Not to mention Cross Oak’s infamous milkshakes!) \nThe cost to participate is $145 (for teens)\, $115 (for adults)\, but if you register by October 1\, you’ll save $25 per person! (Consequently\, those who register between October 9-15 will pay an additional $15.) \nFees include entrance to all sessions and activities\, breakfast Saturday through Breakfast Sunday (you’ll need to provide dinner prior to your arrival Friday night)\, late night snacks\, and a t-shirt! \nWe require a minimum of 1 adult per 6 students and one adult per gender. So if you have 5 girls and 1 boy\, you’ll need both a male and a female chaperone. (Note: “Adult” is defined as being over 20 years of age.) **If you are a small church with a few teens and do not have an adult to send\, please contact Josh Huff. We’d like to help make it work for you! \nHOW TO REGISTER: All registration is done through the nwonyievents.org. However\, please note that each church has its own registration link! When you visit the registration site\, every church will be listed. Select your church and use that link in your local church communications. Your church will then have access to their own registration system. We’re also happy to report that online registration now includes a medical release form for each participant\, as these are required for every teen participating in retreat. \nCANCELLATIONS: Because certain aspects of retreat must be paid in advance\, we are unable to issue full refunds. Cancellations up to two weeks prior will be issued a refund minus $40. Cancellations less than two weeks prior will not be refunded at all. \nWHAT TO BRING: Students should bring a Bible\, a writing utensil\, clothes\, extra cash for the Snack Bar\, a laundry bag\, toiletries\, bed linens and towels. Plan for every kind of weather–you never know what to expect in November! Also\, some sleeping areas are separate from shower facilities–plan accordingly! \nWHAT NOT TO BRING: Normal contraband (weaponry\, drugs\, alcohol\, tobacco\, fireworks\, etc.)\, student vehicles (students driving to the event will be sent home)\, and electronics (items that aren’t absolutely necessary!) **We reserve the right to confiscate items deemed inappropriate until the end of the event\, and appreciate your understanding.

SUMMARY:Ministry Development and Assessment Center (MDAC)
DESCRIPTION:The Ministry Development and Assessment Center is a required weekend for all NWO district-licensed ministers to help them discover their greatest gifts\, develop as a leader\, experience a collaborative peer learning environment\, and be encouraged – all the while gaining a better understanding of their leadership style and providing self-aware of areas needed for growth and greater effectiveness. MDAC is a prerequisite step in the journey toward ordination. \nBoth the candidate and spouse (if married) must participate in the entire weekend event. The weekend begins at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday and will go through Sunday at approximately noon. \nThere is a significant amount of preparation for the event. \nAn application for both the candidate and the spouse must be filled out ahead of the event\, plus three separate assessments for both the candidate and the spouse.  \nThe application is available here: MDAC Registration Form. \nEmail Chip Bullock at ChipBullock@limacc.com to register when the application is complete.  \nThe applications as well as the assessments must be completed ahead of time\, with a deadline of Monday\, August 19.

Sometimes in life we get so caught up in the ins and outs of our daily lives that it’s hard to focus on emptying ourselves in worship of God. Every year\, Fall Retreat provides that opportunity. Churches will be responsible for collecting payments from individuals\, then submitting one payment to the district. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Refund Policy\n				Because certain aspects of retreat must be paid in advance\, we are unable to issue full refunds. Churches will be responsible for payment of all registrations. Cancellations up to 2 weeks prior will be responsible for a $40 payment. Cancellations less than 2 weeks prior will be responsible for full registration payment. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				How Many Adults Should We Bring?\n				We are requiring a minimum of 1 adult per 6 students and one adult per gender. DESCRIPTION:This 2-1/2-day assessment is designed to evaluate future Church Planters & Campus Pastors’ readiness and capacity for launching new starts–either through church planting or through a multi-site approach. (Spouses of those being assessed are required to attend the assessment and participate in all activities\, but are not being assessed themselves.)\n\nThe cost of the assessment is $250. This will cover part of the cost of accommodations\, food\, snacks\, and materials. Note: most districts will cover all or part of the cost of the assessment. Meals will be provided on-site for Friday (breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner) and Saturday (breakfast and lunch).
