 Terra Gorrell

Director of Gold Leadership Development Pathway

Full bio

In 2023, Terra Gorrell became Director of Gold Leadership Development Pathway for the Northwestern Ohio District. This program leads all local and district licensed ministers through a comprehensive process developed to enrich and equip this next generation of pastors to have a solid foundation in Nazarene doctrine, theology, and church polity, as well as build practical ministry skills and leadership tools. The program is designed to be a catalyst to give these leaders the opportunity to grow in grace and knowledge, to walk in their Call, and to advance the Kingdom of God. It also provides each candidate with the skills that they need to succeed by learning alongside many of the most effective pastors in the district.

Terra received a BSN from Lourdes College in 1998 and completed the NWO Directed Studies Program in 2008 when she became an ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene. She has served the Defiance Church of the Nazarene since 2002 as Worship & Connections Pastor and
became the Co- Lead Pastor in 2022. She has also previously served on the District Advisory Board and continues as a member on the Ministerial Credentials Board on the Northwestern Ohio District.

Terra grew up traveling with her family’s gospel musical group “The Singing Fry Family.” She began singing on stage at the age of 3 and playing piano at the age of 5. Through this ministry, she witnessed hundreds of people coming to an altar to give their life to Jesus. This heritage continues to have a powerful impact on her life and her passion for ministry. She is deeply humbled and grateful for the Call of God on her life and His many blessings. She loves to lead people into His presence and break open the Word through teaching and preaching. Along with pastoring the Defiance Church, she leads women’s conferences, Young Adult groups, and continues to lead worship services weekly. Connecting people to the story of God in scripture is one of her greatest blessings. This fuels her passion to come alongside and help equip those young in ministry to grasp and be able to clearly connect and articulate the life transformational message of Holiness.

Terra married her high school sweetheart, Brian, in 1997. Together, they have two children, Brianna (Griffin) and Zach. She enjoys spending time with her family, and one of her greatest joys is ministering along with them at the Defiance Church.
